Description
New Hampshire is currently the second oldest state in the country, with our state's elder population expected to significantly increase over the next 10-15 years. As people age, they are at further risk of developing cognitive impairments that impact decision making. Dr. Jacob Holzer, an expert in geriatric forensic psychiatry and editor of a newly published book entitled "Geriatric Forensic Psychiatry: Principles and Practice," available at
will share his knowledge of how the brain ages and how basic clinical disorders impact cognition. An experienced legal panel will review ethical issues all practitioners face when representing individuals with diminished capacity, regardless of the field of practice, as well as best practices for communicating with clients managing the attorney-client relationship. You will also learn about resources available to persons with cognitive impairments and legislation impacting vulnerable adults.
