NH Municipal Assn, Concord
75 General Minutes
Description
This meeting is for members of the NHBA's Municipal & Governmental Law Section.
The Municipal & Governmental Law Section will host Cameron G. Shilling, Esq., of McLane Middleton, P.A., at its March meeting to discuss information privacy and security. Cam will address the ethical obligations that attorneys and law firms in New Hampshire have to their clients to ensure that they maintain an appropriate level of technological competency, and that they can preserve the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of client information. Cam also will instruct lawyers and law firms how they can - and should - be implementing measures to avoid breaches and security incidents related to that information, including through information privacy and security risk assessments, vulnerabilities remediation, privacy and security policies, and workforce training. Finally, because state and local municipalities are highly susceptible to cyber-attack, Cam will teach attorneys who attend the meeting how to effectively advise their clients to begin the process of addressing their vulnerabilities and reducing their risk of cyber breach.
