Description
This CLE program is for members of the NHBA Intellectual Property Law Section.
A patent with poorly drafted claims language can become a financial burden for a business. The more care a practitioner takes in preparing and prosecuting a patent application, in particular the terminology of the claims and the drafting of the specification, the more likely the patent will withstand any challenges. This 1-hour presentation* seeks to make patent practitioners aware of the pitfalls of filing patents without devoting sufficient attention to drafting claims. We will provide patent practitioners with best practices for avoiding mistakes in drafting the claims and specification, explore the practical implications of case law on patent practice, and offer practice tips for preparing, defending and enforcing patent claims.
This presentation will be conducted by attorney Randy Hibshman of Claim Construction, PLLC. Credits to be determined.
